*RANT* OH MY GOD, WHY MAKE A TOPIC ABOUT THIS, IT'S BEEN SUGGESTED 500 TIMES! *RANT*

Because, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to mod this into the level editor, to make shops easy to set up:

Calm Shopkeeper - Is calm, and sitting in the one spot *

Shop Blocks - Smooth shop blocks.. * > If destroyed, any calm shopkeepers on the level go nuts. Also, if an idol is placed on these blocks, it gets cashed in for $5000

Buy-able Items - Create a new category like the Enemies and Traps categories, with buy-able items, which you place above shop tiles* and can buy them in the custom level. Also, maybe press E on it in the level editor to adjust it's price in said level. * If not placed directly above a shop tile, it turns into a normal item, without a cost. If the item is picked up and the spelunker goes onto normal tiles, without paying for it, any calm shopkeepers will go nuts.

Shop Signs - Gotta have shop signs. Cheesy (Not dice house signs, because they're gonna take a whole lot of different stuff to make, and have nothing to do with this idea. This idea is for shops, not dice houses)

Lamps, Red and Yellow - I know they're in Spelunky Editor Plus, but if this stuff gets put into a new mod, then you'd have to put lamps in again. Just listing this in case someone else decides to make a level editor extension.

I got this idea about an hour ago, so forgive me if I'm forgetting something important. I'm not good at memorizing things. It takes me about 7 minutes to copy (by typing) a 25 character long activation code for stuff..

Anyway.. If there are any holes in these ideas, please say so. Also, if you happen to think up fixes for these holes, please mention that as well.

What do you think?

Will the Shopkeepers still block level exits even if they are custom?

They do anyway.

If you're referring to if you steal an item, but not kill a shopkeep, though, I guess whoever may make the mod can add that feature, or not.

I dunno. ;P

Well as I found when messing around, this might not be as hard as people think it is...

when I wasn't trying to.

Ha.

Well, yeah..

I was assuming since people have been making things like TLS and Spelunky X and stuff, that there'd be some people good enough to be able to mod all of this into the level editor. Smiley

It's just a matter of tagging items for sale and it should work just fine!

So you would be able to make it exactly like I asked above? Cheesy

(I feel that I post too much.  Undecided)

More or less put a "if shop title is under this item, then for sale, otherwise, not for sale"

I'm not exactly understanding that. Did you mean "If shop tile is under item, then for sale"?

Well, anyway.. I just want to know, is anyone actually open to doing this?

Bump/Edit: *Quote above*

This would make for an interesting editor contest.

I don't know what you mean by this by the way. shopkeepers don't spawn at doors in custom levels.

I was asking if the shoppies would spawn at exits as a change in this (maybe) mod

They already do. Make a custom level that leads to another. In the first level, put a shopkeeper and kill it. Go through the exit and into the next level. At the exit, you will see an angry shopkeeper.
