Current Ongoing storys:
Finished Storys:
  • Lonam Thimethshem vs. The Adamantine Colossus(Darkness3313)

This is where I and maybe some other people will play the Adventure mode and do the same thing we do for the sucession games.
(No sign ups needed!)
Now if your wondering(The people that even know what I'm talking about) what an Adamantine Colossus is.
The short answer is: I made it
The long answer is: The version of DF I'm playing this on is modded(By yours truely)
Currently all I've changed is added me as a race(The darkness') and the Adamantine Colossusi.

Now I'll get this party started as soon as I make the story.

Just make sure you don't hit "start now" or whatever at the beginning, choose to start from a town. You're going to host the region folder? or the whole game if it's modded, or just let people play whatever?

(off-topic I'm still going to start the other fort, I just had some stuff happen today and was too upset to attempt it, I'll let you know when it's going, sorry Embarrassed)

This  >

It mimics the "down" staircase from other roguelikes, also I don't believe it's even mentioned anywhere that that's what you push. I raged pretty bad trying to figure that out.

(No dates in Adventure mode D:)

Me and my brothers, the Darkness' were near the place where the Adamantine Colossus is said to lurk. The Queen herself has sent us on this mission and I fear it may be our last.

Theres no point standing here though, so its time to move on...
*A page is torn out here

...And we reach a cave.

Seems he has a nice place here, guess its explore'n time.

And hes not the only resident...
EVEN MORE! GRR...running into me...

(OOC: The standard combat log for Lonam.)

Come out come out wherever you are...
(OOC: I'm gonna skip the rest until I find the guy, this is pretty standard stuff)
*Many pages are missing here
...We
spent all that time looking for him! And hes not even there!

(OOC: The battles gonna be a video)
In which I die horribly

(I plan on uploading the mod when its finished but if anyone wants the Adamantine Colossus(I'll only release that at the moment) then I'll post the code and how to get it for you.)

I usually use MWSnap to take screenshots; it's pretty simple, and can capture a chosen window very easily.

Alt+PrntScrn only captures the window.

Last time:
FRAPS, even records I use naught but FRAPS. No messing with opening paint every time, choose a directory, a file type, and a key.  Smiley

And now my adventure! (the green highlights are links to pictures)

=The Tale of Sir Bobo Saviorgift=

Training had finally ended, and Sir Bobo was eager to set out on a quest of his own. This was the time in a knight's life wherein he was given a task to measure his worth as a member of the elite protectors. Hands trembling with excitement, Bobo approached the Axelord Amsan, who was to appoint him his task. What would it be, he wondered, rescue a fair maiden? Free an oppressed city?

"Greetings!", Bobo began, "I have come to discuss serving the cause."

Ah! An eradication request! And of a giant no less, Milaf Flysaviors, the Awe-Inspiring Stances. It seems she destroyed homes, looted property, and killed a number of would-be heroes.

Bobo made haste in setting out for the Great Cavern, home of Milaf the giant. In approaching the entrance, he noticed a few articles spread around. Some meat here, a scepter there, collecting the items he then descended into the cave.

The dank smell permeated the air, it was the smell of death rot. Huge rats scampered about, and it wasn't long until a booming voice shook the cavern walls.

It seems this wasn't the fight Bobo was looking for, but combat had begun and it was his duty to see the fight through to the end. Blows flew wildly in each direction, both Bobo, and the giant Sas blocking and leaping out of harms way. Until a strike was finally landed on the giant.

But what was this? The sword had been firmly lodged into the giant's hand! Unarmed against a giant, Bobo knows he is out of his league. He must formulate a plan of attack and quickly. With his foot still held firm by the beast, he stretches out to grasp the hilt of the iron sword, still embedded in the giant's right hand.

With a jerking twist, the blade tears open flesh as crimson pools pour from the hand. The resulting pain forces her to release the mighty grip on Bobo. As she makes a futile attempt retaliate, Bobo reaches once again for the blade. A thunderous roar, loud enough to bring down the earth above them bellows from the monsters mouth. It's almost enough to make him lose his grip, but Bobo knows should that happen, he's as good as dead.

A moment later the beast passes out, but not before reaching out with her good hand to grasp at his throat! The enormous fingers encase Bobo's entire head, as he gasps for air. Beginning to feel faint himself, he realizes this may be the end, but his training will not allow him to give in! Blindly flailing at the air, Bobo makes contact with the cold shimmering metal he has come to regard almost as a friend. "Perhaps one more is all it will take!" Bobo desperately thought to himself, half-conscious, he prepared all the will and strength he could gather and twists the blade knowing it may be the last act of his life.

Then there was darkness (no pun intended Tongue), he feels the grip loosen as the giant fist drops to his feet. The giant Sas has bled to death from her wounds. With the near-death experience, Bobo decides to return to town and rest a bit.

Upon entering town, it seems a stray cheetah had smelt the blood and come to get his meal. Full of confidence at this point, Bobo takes up a rock and chucks it hard at the approaching cheetah. A single stone bruises multiple internal organs and breaks the animals spine. A ceaseless lump heaped on the earthen ground, Bobo approaches to finish the beast off.

Trading the various items he acquired from around the caves for a bit of gold, Bobo returned to the quest. But the journey back to the cave was long, and fatigue had crept up in the early morning hours. Settling in a small valley, he laid down to rest up. Though a few hours later he was shaken awake by a vicious battle cry!

The giant Mirding Strongright had surprised Bobo, and seizing an opportune moment to attack, had injured his sword hand. This caused Bobo to drop his weapon and become even more vulnerable.

Knowing he had no chance in hand-to-hand combat with a giant, Bobo had no choice but to attempt to reclaim his weapon. It was this moment that spelled doom for Bobo Saviorgift. As he reached down to retrieve the weapon, a vicious assault was rained down by the giant Mirding.

The giant Milaf Flysaviors, remains at large, terrorizing villages and kidnapping children. A call to arms remains open to any brave enough to venture against her.

Cool. I'd post mine but I'm too lazy.

And by that you mean you didn't do one.

Anyway, theres a good reason for this Necro and that is:
Theres a new story!(Well not yet but I am doing one.)
The title of this story is:
The Log of a Goblin Serial Murderer
                         &
The Journal of X(There isn't a name yet and this will be edited when there is one for this guy.): Lead Goblin Investigator of X(The Dark Fortress isn't named yet)

This will be a text only story and the first update should be coming around today. So look out for it.
(If you haven't guessed, this is gonna be a two Adventurer story. Contrasting both sides of the story rather than one. The actual murders, and the Investigation effort.)

Murderer's POV:

Assassin's log: Entry 1

I trained for Twenty years.
Yes log, you read me right. Twenty years.
I honed my skills to become a master assassin, when my training was complete, I killed my master.
I took his Iron Short Sword, masterfully crafted by Humans just for him long ago. I murdered him and took it. The Sword he gave me would cut it. So I killed him and took it. My weapon of choice is a Crossbow of course, an Assassin needs to stay far and hidden. But for when it comes to Close range, it takes a real melee weapon to do it. So his was perfect.
And I killed him for it.

It Was fun.

I'm resting in Ransackedstole looking for more Goblins to murder. Maybe I'll set a plan.
