There are so many good mods but they would be soo much better if we could mix them into our own mod perfict for our own individual tastes. You could even post your code so others can help with your project or just give you tips when your stuck.
Is there some reason why everyone doesn't release their code with every release?

To be honest, I'd rather keep my code to myself.
Partly because it isn't that great, but also because I'm not so sure it could be of help to many people.

Your gun mod is pretty keen. Don't down your own stuff! Gun mod would be great combined with a more deady, more quantity, enemy mod.
But I don't dis anyone for wanting to keep code to themselfs. I just wish I could have it all the mods in one!

I would definitely share my code if I made a mod. Who knows, maybe I will. Anyway, I don't think I'd share the code if I'm working on something unfinished, unless I needed help. But if I had released a stable version, I'd also release the code.  |

I'd probably share mine if anyone expressed any interest in it. On the other hand, few of the changes I made were technically interesting, so I would think that anyone with a serious interest in modding could recreate most of it. Also, I don't write particularly elegant code, so it'd probably be tough to seperate out the interesting bits.

I really want your potion mod to mix into my explorer mod. It was the first mod that caught my eye! Now that one, xp mod, upgraded baddies and monkeys are at the top of my list.

Once I'm done with it, TLS's source code will be barely recognizable as Spelunky's original source. I'm changing a ridiculous amount of stuff, but I'll still release it when I'm finished. Maybe someday we'll see a mod of a mod...
