I,understanding that the merchant simply wants to sell his things and not to defile anything, and that I do not need any of his items at the moment, walk out of the shop.I think to myself:"There was a lot of newcomers lately...Better keep an eye out for them, just in case."

This looks at lot like my game, just without pictures and with clearer mechanics =).

Name: Generic McGee
Race: Human
Class (This applies to humanoid): Soldier
Weapons: Bill bec-de-bardiche glaive-guisarme.  (A pole weapon with innumerable heads attached to its end, including, but not limited to, a hammer, an axe blade, a hook, a spear point, a slashing blade, and a scythe.)
Personality: Gruff, a "kill on sight"-type of person.  Also a sadist.
Backstory: Once upon a time, there was an obscure and unrelated plotline of a cloud that enveloped Generic McGee's homeland and forced him out and now he's here for some reason.  He's mostly here to kill stuff to vent frustration at the disruption of the narrative.

I have created the use of dice in this game, and I shall give an example now.

Doomeye walks out of his shop in search of a small amount of gold, (Die - 1: nothing) which is a clear, nice day in this cave.  As he walks, (Die - 2: spider) he saw a spider hanging on the ceiling. (Die - 1: nothing) Doomeye saw nothing around him, so he ran under the spider to provoke it. (Die - 4: not hurt) He attempted to punch the spider (Die - 1: miss) but missed.  The spider attempted to attack again, yet missed as Doomeye dodged out of the way.  Finally, Doomeye punched the spider again (6 - hit) and successfully killed the spider.

Oh, and ipwnu, that character you created has a huge pole for a weapon - which means a slow attack, but with a reasonable damage output.

Doomeye was pleased by the comment this person had given him.  "Hey, thanks."
He then recognized him as someone he's seen before.  He asked the question,  "I've seen you in my shop a few minutes ago, is this correct?"

"Ah, that's good," he replied, "A potential customer.  Just so you know, there may be new weapons to use in my shop, so come by regularly to see if you like anything," he announced in a manager-like tone, but with a nice smile.

Question:  How many people can play at a time?

Do the rest of the people wait until the first batch is done?

No, this is a roleplay, which means you may join whenever you like and be in the world of Spelunky.

However, you can only create ONE character.

Looking around, Generic spots a snake pit off in the distance.  There are no enemies around him, which he feels somewhat depressed about.  However, there IS a spike trap in the distance a bit far off.  He also notices a jar right next to him that Generic had almost missed.  Perhaps if he had wanted to kill anything he may go inside the snake pit.  (use of the die, of course.)
