I think the ghost is put there so you don't steal skills.

Though it can easily be avoided by throwing a bomb or something, and then stealing the shop stuff.

And I was planning to do a mod, but apparently I need to pay for Game Maker.

Screw. That.

Screw paying for GM or making a mod?

Or are you planning to acquire GM in another way?

Green spiders are disguised ridiculously well.
I didn't even see it the first time.
Machetes are extremely useful for close combat survival. Which happens a lot.
Also I think skill shops should appear more often. I almost never see them.
I also seemed to get like 130 points for crushing a giant spider with a boulder?

I think you should up the cost of skills, but make it so you can buy skills in the middle of every level.

Just saying.

Green spiders are very camouflaged. I didn't see it the first time, either.

Anyway, I love this mod. It's so fun. Cheesy
I can't wait for the full version.

Also I think skill shops should appear more often. I almost never see them.

Each shop currently has about a 1/3 chance of being a skill shop in the first area, increasing gradually to 1/2 in the last area. Of course that depends on a shop being generated in the first place, so I'll look into changing this. While I want skills to be plentiful, I also don't want shops that sell items to be rare.

I also seemed to get like 130 points for crushing a giant spider with a boulder?

Killing the giant spider while it's "active" gives a lot more experience than while it is hanging.

I think you should up the cost of skills, but make it so you can buy skills in the middle of every level.

You mean between each level? That's how I had originally planned to do it, but I thought doing it via the store would keep with the feel of the game more. I have plans for a more guaranteed way to get skills, but it's probably going to take a while for me to implement it.

Auto shotgun time! Grin

Also, haste doubles the effect of both reload skills. It's pretty crazy. Just don't run into your own bullets.

So has anyone figured out what the blobs in the ice caves do? I didn't want to spoil it in the first post.

Let me guess, not only are they poisonous, but the droplets which have an alarming tendency to shower outward upon their death are poisonous?

Also, I should think something to keep track of which skills you've purchased would be helpful. At the moment, I make it a point to buy one of the poison buffs; the rest is just icing, though fall buffs are a nice "just in case."

Kudos for thinking of giving different experience amounts for the giant spider depending on its status; are others the same? I'm afraid I'm usually too busy trying to squash them frantically to notice.

I don't think normal spiders are he most likely did that because giant spiders hanging are there own object.

From what I have seen at least
