I wish the thread with a collection of texture packs was pinned to the top, It's a pain trying to find these things. Especially ones that are default size. Anyway, everything takes getting used to if you plan on using it, plus the sky, water, and fire(I think) are still default.

So yesterday when the server was being checked/updated I was gonna start doing livestream of singleplayer. Between computer problems, and trying to figure out how to get the crap working, by the time I had it up the server was ready. In one form or another at least, I did some capture of the health/mob addition, and some funny things happened. check it out here.

Ads are a bit annoying, but it makes it free, also annoying is the double music so I'm likely to turn (MC) music off if I continue to stream. Probably do more than Minecraft too, if I can.

crap of course when I finally find a way to play this, That happens. #fail.

This is twice as funny since you mispelled it "rawcritics" not "rawrcritics"

Anyway, I've been playing on mc.dstrike.net for a while. It's Zan's server and has hey0 installed, which means grief protection (for real, not just warnings) for buildings and chests. Unfortunately there's a problem with both atm.

RC is running, but you need to downgrade your version to get in, Tyr is working on his mods to update to beta I suppose and doesn't want to put it up with a lot of bugs. He's also adding some, uhh...special features?

Dstrike is down entirely right now, even though hey0 was updated, there was some crash after running for an hour or two. No clue when that'll be worked out.

The lesson is, when Notch upgraded to beta, most non-vanilla servers (which would be most of them) had to wait for mod updates in order to run properly again. Which means at the moment a  large number are probably down. Coupled with the timing, it may be a while before they all go up again. My suggestion would be to cruise the server list and try to find one that's running and worth a damn.

This server really interests me.

It's hook is that instead of being a free-build server like Tyr's and most others, it plays more like how Survival should be: surviving.
The basic idea is that people are allowed to grief your base and steal your treasure, and you have to fight them off, while going out and base-raiding yourself.

Meh, I prefer the survival against the game rather than other players. Not really fun to me to spend hours working on a base and collection materials to log in one day and see they're all gone.
