Suggestion: For Forums

I've got a few ideas that I think could benefit the forum.

1. The ability to hide posts
2. Buddy List
3. Ignore list

SUGGESTIONS FROM POSTERS
4. Import smileys from TIGSource
5. Instructions for posting (Codes)
6. More smileys
7. Ability to remove others posts in thread, but not entirely
8. Forum Suggestions Board
9. More themes

P.S, Sudo - [img] is the tag you use to put an image in your post.

[img]www.enterimageurlhere.com[/img ] without space after the /img.



In fact, I used the [IMG] tags to get the picture in my signature.

Edit: Ability to remove other people's posts in your threads.
But also, when a post is removed, it doesn't get rid of it fully - It still says "This post has been removed". If it was to take away the post fully, you could make people look like an idiot as if they were talking to noone.

Edit: This is kind-of ironic, but, a "Forum Suggestions" board.

Speaking of board themes, one that makes better distinctions between different posts would be nice.

Here's an example from a phpBB forum I frequent.



Now look at this forum. The post backgrounds are barely noticeable and there's no difference between the dividing lines of the signature and header. Sure, I can hide signatures, but only when logged in.

For Sudonimus, the image markup will look like this:

I dont' think an Ignore list would work in this small a forum. to few people and things wouldn't... make such sense.

It would depend on how it would work, if you couldn't see the people's posts  at all, that would  not work

If we're going to talk seriously about themes, we should probably get some. Since this forum is SMF and not phpBB, you'll have to use their themes. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have different previews for the forum index, topic lists, and individual posts like phpBB.

Who handles forum upkeep anyway? If it's Derek, he might be too busy doing cool things to take care of this stuff.
