First person (what you and MGG are talking about) simply wouldn't work for a game like this, if it were me (and it may actually be me) I would make it third person like in Sim War V.
Even if it was a very think 2-d style game?

Why not? You'd have to redo the sprites not to.

That would be interesting... never saw something like that before.
I just had an idea. 3d spulunky, with 2d areas that you can jump back and forth from.

Been done before, it made for a great puzzle platformer. I'm sure a Spelunky rendition would be epic as well.

Whenever I try to look at a tutorial made by YoYoGames, they always use the dumb actions. They never teach you any code. I tried looking at the 3D tutorial; didn't work nice.

Just use the code verson of the actions, it's not hard to find them (I like drag and drop...)

I KNOW I've mentioned Derek's GM tutorials (that actually use GML code) many times already. I am NOT going to go find it again, even if you ask. Use the forum's search, you'll find it somewhere around here. Oh it's been done before, but you know it could be redone here. and was that game a rouge like Been done before, it made for a great puzzle platformer. I'm sure a Spelunky rendition would be epic as well.
