how to put down damsel gently?

So.. how do you put down the damsel gently?
The reason for this question is that i went to the kissing parlor, picked up the damsel and then changed my mind about the purchase. Then i pushed down key and X.
She, of course started crying and ran out of the store... you can guess who the shopkeeper shot next

I found a workaround. I pick up the damsel-for-sale to check her buy-out price, then set her down (she'll be dizzy). If you buy a kiss from her, she'll kiss you and be A O K again. I guess all she needed was a little love from her local Spelunker :3

personally i just run like crazy until the shops out of the actively rendered range of the game XD

Yes, this is really annoying. You get used to it.

I like to use the "Run Away" behavior in the kissing booth to get the damsel to "rescue" herself, and toddle off to somewhere I can pick her up but the shopkeeper doesn't gank me.
