I always thought the newer DS's were cheap and break easily, I've heard quite a few cases about them. But the good ol' Brick DS hasn't broken for me and unless it does I'm not getting another DS

Haven't seen a serious reason to upgrade from the DS Lite, and am pretty tired of Nintendo trying to slightly upgrade everything every year with a couple new functions. I appreciate their effort for innovation, but it seems pretty convoluted after a while. Anyway, my DS still works fine and until it falls apart I see no reason to get an "i" version. (until they decide to move to download only games or something radical like that).

I remember ipwnu1337 telling me that the iPod
gets updated like every week. And that whenever
you buy an iPod it almost instantly becomes obsolete.

I guess this applies somewhat to the DS.

Have you seen the download games? because they have them. a lot of good ones to. So yes, there are download only games.

And the screen being bigger and longer battery life helps to.

Helps, but still it's not enough to convince me it's worth shelling out for a whole new system. Keep in mind though, that I had the original Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, DS, and DS Lite, so you must forgive me if I'm a little jaded.

DSi only games?
Oh you Nintendo
Oh you.

But seriously, Nintendos been going kinda downhill recently, they made everyone forget about the Gamecube with the wii(Which most games use the Gamecube Controller) The DS is getting replaced by the DSi now? Unless some big titles appear for the DSi and no games are made for the DS, then Nintendo will lose my support for one console.
They have QUITE the history for doing this, while it is smart business wise, the way they do it is just annoying.

They've got marketing down, I'll definitely give them that. And honestly, out of the big three, I think Nintendo are the most down-to-Earth-honestly-just-trying-to-make-good-things-for-gamers company. Whatever you may think of their innovations (like the Virtual-Boy, 64 controller, DS touch screen, and Wii-mote) they seem to always be listening to the consumer in terms of what is fun and what they want to play. For this reason, I have pretty much always been a Nintendo fanboy, but seriously I can't afford to get a newfangled system every season just because of a few new features. That said, when a new Castlvania comes to DSi alone, I'll probably get one.  Embarrassed

Like I said, I do love Nintendo, the games are like you said.

But honestly, the way they do some things are annoying and usually unessicary.
For example, DS, DS lite(just smaller and SLIGHTLY more battery life),DSi(We made the Download play have a real use and we ADDED A CAMERA) It makes it seem like the console was unfinished from the start. If I hadn't gotten my DS for like 3 dollars in a Raffle then I'd be more angry.

I have a DSi. Just need to get some money on there. It's a really cool system.

Also here's my list of Nintendo systems.
SNES
Nintendo 64
Gamecube
Wii
Gameboy Advance SP (2)
DSL
DSi

I used to have a GBA and DS Phat, but I got rid of them due to scratched up screens and darker screens.

EDIT: Forgot my 64

Take those and add a NES and 64 and that's my list, I still play the GBA more than any of them though. SNES and GBA were pretty much the pinnacle of gaming to me. Since the GBA acts pretty much as a modern port for SNES (Link to the Past, Metroid, etc.) having a handheld SNES is crackers! (besides the emulator I run on PSP, shhhhh.)

They are in no way getting rid of ds games, the dsi is still the dsi. A better verson of the ds, and one well worth it's money. When the ds 2 comes out in 2012 however... then the ds is beeped. I fear that day.
