Author Topic: What do you want to see in the XBLA Spleunky?  (Read 8062 times)

First of all I'd like to say hello to everyone here at Mossmouth, I just made my account here as I freaking love Spelunky.

Now, what do you guys hope to see in the XBLA version of Spelunky? Here are a few of my own personal hopes:

1) An optional endless mode, (maybe add an online rankings board thing?)
2) Create-A-Spelunker, essentially it'd just be simple things like choosing the color of your Spelunker's outfit and such, maybe add a few heads and whip skins, it's out there I know, but I think it'd be kinda cool watching a character I created get killed within the first twenty seconds of the game.
3) Maybe keep the map editor and add the option to share them over XBL? Though that may be kind of a hassle.

and that's it for me, anything else Derek decides to surprise us with in the XBLA version will no doubt be awesome.

By the way, does anyone have any idea if this is coming the INDIE marketplace? Or to the Arcade marketplace? Because this has been bothering me for some time

(By the way, I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area of the forums.)

I would think it would be coming out in the indie marketplace, as it's not an arcade game, just an arade style.

Guh, to heck with that, if it's going to get ported to the DS, I'm hoping someone makes it as a homebrew so I don't have to get a DSi >_>

and are you saying there isn't anything you're hoping to see the XBL version?

I don't have a 360, no does anyone in my town have one. I haven no way of playing it in anyway.

Also Wii gets La-Mulana and Cave Story so... I think we should finish off the set.

Offline and Online Co-op. Online would work like this: The level ends when both people are out of the level. Including deaths. As long as one person finishes the level alive, the game continues. Offline could work the same way, just using split-screens.

There could even be games like capture the flag or deathmatch!

This is spelunky. not halo. How would death match even work? whip each other?

multilayer sure, co op? sounds really good. and capture the flag could be interesting.

BUT A DEATH MATCH?

Oh, come on!  You've been playing Spelunky for how long, and you don't think a multiplayer battle mode would work?  Spelunker can attack in a lot more ways than just with his whip!  Throw rocks!  Throw bombs!  Find pick up crates and use the random items inside to your advantage!  It'd probably work great.  Bomberman games work on the premise.

Meh. It was more that the I read so many things like that for games that would not work.
