Y'know, with the new GM's greater support of unicode, a bunch of new symbols became available to use for stuff anyway. The double-character thing is kinda overkill at this point.
Doesn't new Gamemaker kill any old unicodes you used though? |

Doesn't new Gamemaker kill any old unicodes you used though? Sadly, yes. You'd have to make a copy-over. Like, copy the locations with symbols into a text document, upgrade to the new GM, then paste them back in where they belong again. Probably wouldn't be too hard, though perhaps a bit tedious. |

UTF-8 is one of the few way to represent unicode nowerdays. Unicode aims to contain the entire world's writing systems in it. Not only does it have Greek, but also Cryllic, Arabic, Hebrew and even lots of Chinese letters! |
