Um...  well you would need more code then that (the variables need to be defined) and that only works for walls to the right
That's what I was asking about the user defined variables, but I found out how to do that since, this is code for wall jumping Metroid-style (push against the wall, then the other direction and jump) I like the N+ method better though. And to change the direction you just replace each +1 to -1 and each can_walljump_l to _r and vice-versa. Anyway, I just thought you might want to play around with it.

Wall jumping Metriod/Mario style, that could be awesome... But should it be standard, or needing a Item, maybe added to the grappling gloves?

Personally I'm all crazy about a double jump... That's one nice way to move  Grin

I don't know if a double jump would fit in Spelunky as it stands, but (feel like I've said this before) spring shoes should let you wall jump, maybe keep wall jumping as long as you can go between? Or like Delver said have the grapple gloves plus spring shoes, wouldn't it be nice to discover hidden functions through item combinations!  Shocked

I was considering making a feather item that lets you double jump! Ideally, it would be even better with the spring shoes. (Two spring shoes jumps!)

But I don't have Gamemaker Pro. I'm getting a visa gift card though, so I could order it if I really wanted to.

I agree. Wall jump would be cool, with an item, but "double jumping" doesn't make very much sense. Besides in play it would just be kind of an odd compromise between the spring shoes and the jet pack.
