Apparently, Damsels aren't invulnerable when they are entering a door.
I stole a damsel out of a Kissing Booth, and jumped over the impending shot. I ran in the exit door. The shopkeeper then fired another round, hitting the damsel and sending her flying, even though she was already entering the door.
Amusingly, this resulted in her being both saved and killed on the results screen:
