Except Spelunky uses ogg files.
It converts to .wav, but you could just change it manually... Couldn't you?

You have Youtube vids, no? Just use something like THIS to download the sounds off them.

I don't know if this has been asked yet, but...
Could somebody perhaps make a La-Mulana music pack?

Any special tracks? And SSCC or SC88 versions?
Mr. Explorer (Guidance Gate music) is kind of a must for the caves, maybe Grand History (Spring in the Sky) for lush.

"Mr. Explorer" isn't the Guidance Gate song, it's "Fearless Challenger". "Mr. Explorer" is the surface music (until all eight Guardians are defeated). "Grand History" is in Mausoleum of the Giants, the song for Spring of the Sky is "Curse of Iron Pipe". SC88: Fearless Challenger (Guidance Gate song - Cave) Interstice of the Dimention (Tiamat boss fight song - Boss) SSCC (if possible): Aqua Wish (Prototype song that comes with the La Mulana Jukebox - Ice) (if Aqua Wish can't be used, then Death Game from the Dimensional Corridor) GIGA-MAGMA (Tower of Ruin - Temple) Curse of Iron Pipe (Spring in the Sky - Lush) If the SSCC aren't possible, then SC88 could work as well.

Ah yes, I was just testing you of course Well I think the SSCC versions are somewhere on the wiki in MP3 format, so they should be easy. The others may be on Youtube, if so it should be no problem either. Biggest problem with these is how it restarts after each stage, so you hear the opening a ton, but not the rest. -I forgot the most important part is amplifying before converting, since it seems way too quiet once in-game. Also forgot my half done tribute to boss sounds were in the game when I tested, which was pretty hilarious. Anyway, these sound ok but realized halfway through the MP3 from the arranged soundtrack is the original files, not midi so they sound a bit different. See what you think, I was gonna add Xelpud or something for the title screen too and changed credits to Earth Wind. La-Mulana Music first draft

Okay, the song for the caves is great, as is the song for the jungle. The ice area's song I almost didn't recognize, but it's fantastic. I almost thought it was a song from another game The temple's song also sounded unfamiliar at first, but after a few seconds I knew that it was the SC88 GIGA-MAGMA. Also, the boss song sounds like it does in Windows Media Player. For the credits, you could use "Run for the Sun" (starts similar to "Fanfare" but is longer) which plays during La-Mulana's credits, and for the title screen, "La-Mulana." For a first draft, it's completely amazing. Just a little quiet, but that can be fixed. You just succeeded into making me actually like Fearless Challenger and Curse of Iron Pipe more than Ancient Machine. Also, I realize that this may seem odd to ask, but would it be possible to make a second La-Mulana music pack so that one can simply rename the "sound" folders to choose which songs they want to have in Spelunky?

You meant to have two complete sound folders? Like one with default music and one with new? You'd have to copy over all the SFX, but that's all it would take if this is what you mean. Also, forgot I zipped the sound folder itself instead of zipping it inside another, just to make it easier to copy over.
Anyway, I'll do some tweaking probably tomorrow, but the MP3's ok instead of SSCC? Bleh, I'll just do both, why not?
