Ok im completely stuck here.
I am currently trying to do a special map that we haven't seen much of, but im at a point that i want to use falling ice to my advantage. But i cant quite seem to catch onto how the giant yetis decide what tiles are going to fall and how.
If anyone knows how to control to a point on how to work with falling ice, let me know!

Have a few (3) yetis? Unless you change how they work, I don't think you can control what block they make fall down.

Ok I believe I got it. The yeti is represented by a red dot, and the spelunker a teal dot (the other green dot is another yeti but ill get to that). Yetis will roar when they are facing a spelunker which triggers of a search for ice blocks. They will no look for blocks that are below them or directly over them (as represented by the black and red lines). The roar will only look for and trigger blocks within the blue area, which seems to happen in my tests. The area that is affected is decided on who first saw the spelunker, so the area relative to the first yeti is the only one affected in the map. The other yeti at the green dot sees the spelunker secondly, but his roar will only affect the area the first did. Hard to explain, i got to study it more.

Nice work. I had already concluded there was some kind of pattern to it, but hadn't attempted to figure out what specifically.

Upon examination of the code with oIce { if (instance_exists(oYetiKing)) { if (rand(1,60) == 1 and abs((oYetiKing.x+16)-(x+8)) > 16 and point_distance(x, y, oYetiKing.x, oYetiKing.y) < 96) { instance_create(x, y, oIceBlock); instance_destroy(); } } } I have determined that the yeti's roar will make any ice block not above him nor below him in a ~6 block radius fall out. Since the code was not meant for there to be multiple Yeti King's on one level, I decided to do some testing to find out about the area affected myself. In conclusion, you're hypothesis about how the yeti only affects 2 triangles above him is false, he actually affects in a circular region. Your theory about which Yeti King's area is affected by other Yeti Kings is half right. The area affected is decided by the first one on the screen, not the entire level, to roar at Spelunker, not just see him. I have attached a level that very clearly shows evidence supporting both of my claims. I'm sorry if I sound at all condescending or anything, I just like being scientific when I do experiments like these.

Thanks, but it's all relative. A rocket scientist may be smart at rocket science, but he can't do nothin' at brain surgery. Likewise, the brain surgeon is clueless when presented with rocket science.

Sure i could have studied and observed the source code, but what would be the fun in that? In any case i've given up on my new project so i'll post what is left of it.
Stupid code not handling 200 blocks falling on a screen. T_T

Does this game maker thing teach you how to make levels or is it just for making them?
