Let's say Derek created a sequel. What would you like to see?
Here are some ideas I came up with: Spelunky guy is being celebrated as a hero in the sky (kind of keeping to the religious themes), but a new threat emerges in a distant volcano. The spelunker must travel down on a similar quest.
Here's my worlds:
1. The Sky World. The player travels through a cloudy environment with special levels being a storm level and a moon or sun level.
2. The Desert. Special levels will be a quicksand pit level and a pharaoh level, which could have a hidden entrance to a secret level, The Pyramid. And again there will be a Black Market.
3. The Mountains. A dark forest level on 3-4 which has a normal exit at the bottom and an entrance somewhere to a hidden lake level. In this level you travel upwards like the mothership.
4. The Volcano. Secret level is The Dragon's lair, filled with treasure. No idea on the boss yet.
5. Special, arduous quest to reach a secret dungeon, which will obviously be the most difficult as it'll be beating the game the hard way.
Those are some of my initial ideas. Obviously there would be great depth.
How about you guys? Any ideas of your own.

That's pretty cool. We have to get Derek to make a sequel. This game's replay value is so great, but a sequel a couple years down the road would be so awesome.

Yeah, haha, I thought about that. But there are caves or caverns in the desert and mountains, so that works. You can't really find too many caves in the sky.

Also, Blaze, there's a trope for a game's sequel or something that retrains the original game's name in some way, but does not make sense anymore in this game. It's called " Artifact Title". |
