Gems touched by the ghost are worth $5000 in every world. Maybe they should scale like regular gems do?

Yes, they $5000 worth. They become diamonds...
And there price is multiplied depending on the area, i.e.
Mines = $5000
Jungle = $10000
Ice = $15000
Temple = $20000
You know what = $25000

They're saying they DONT get multiplied, which I couldnt confirm/deny because lol I aint messin with no ghost.

If they don't get the multipliers that's definitely a thing that should be fixed...

Diamonds are worth 5000 in every area. Anybody who thinks otherwise doesn't have enough experience to know better.

I'm also fairly certain that they're actually meant to be 5,000 in every area. It's not a bug or anything.

The gem multipliers don't even work like that. Jungle gets 125%, Ice Caves 150%, etc. But like Gnusie said, diamonds produced by the ghost are always $5000 regardless of area.

iirc, the moai head diamond is actually worth $7,500. But yeah, other than that they're all 5,000.

Why wouldn't they scale though that doesnt make sense to me

If the Moai diamond was 7500 I assume that's because it's not a ghost gem and it's being effected by the increased worth of the ice caves

Which makes me think it is actually a bug because it means that something about the ghost prevents it from scaling, it's not just diamonds are set to not incur the increased value. Either the ghost touching a gem does something like ChangeSprite>Diamond, ChangeWorth>5000 or it otherwise shields it from the effects somehow.

Something like that I only half know what I'm talking about.

I agree that it seems like diamond values should scale, but it cant really be "fixed" without messing up the entire high score history.

Well, because naturally-generated diamonds normally are rare. (Said Moai diamond and occasional Shoppy mini-fortress chests that happen to contain diamonds.)

But with ghost-mining, you can easily convert multiple large gems in expensive diamonds; which would make it incredibly high-paying, beyond even winning the final idol/trophy.

Stress on easily.

The other source of diamonds is those little shopkeeper vaults. Unfortunately it's difficult to tell how much those are worth since they're so packed with other gems.

I have been told that the shopkeeper vault gems multiply with the area as well, however I have not tested that theory myself.
