A few bugs about the damsel (from TigSource Forums)

While playing as a damsel, a man-eating plant had apparently spawned next to a spelunker-in-distress and ate him. When said plant ate said spelunker, the spelunker turned into a damsel while being eaten. There was no way I could've gotten to him in time to save him. And I'm pretty sure spelunkers don't change genders, hair color, and clothes while being eaten by plants :B

Wasn't the opposite reported when playing in the alternate costume? Maybe the sprite changes are just mixed up.

What do you mean opposite?

Meaning playing in the alternate costume and being eaten, you are shown as the original costume when swallowed. So playing as damsel;

you get eaten, turn into spelunky,
he gets eaten, turns into you
