Spike shoes are the best weapon for the caves and the jungle.
Shotgun for the ice caves. Actually, the pistol might be better, depending on how good your aim is.
Scepter for the temple.
I don't even bother to pick anything else up.

despite hearing of it's cannon-like properties, I still can't see how the bow is even close to useful.
