This is a large (around thirty room) level set I built to test out some of my ideas for a larger project. It has a different gameplay style than anything I've ever created before, empathizing exploration with a small amount of backtracking and some optional areas. The "password" system I talked about in the other thread is included. It works because progression is tied to item collection.

Deadwater is balanced for YASM and its inventory system. It will run in Editor Plus, but not as intended.

It comes with another soundtrack, which you may or may not wish to use.

Interesting concept, in a way it's similar to what I've been working on with Spelunky Natural. I found it a little confusing though. I got as far as the sticky gloves and then wasn't really sure what to do next.

BTW, you might want to reconsider using zipx, I'm not sure how many people can open that. I was able to, but I had to update my compression software first.

The next area is on the other side of the tree in the second room of the Shrine. The gloves are required to access it.

I'll change it to regular zip.

Luckily, I was able to open it too without even updating WinRAR (though it didn't recognize which software to use to open it by default).

Edit: I take that back. Embarrassed

Thank you!

The praise of the opening?
Opens, but then this:
Quote from: WinRAR *roars*
<insert file location here> Unknown method in Deadwaternosound/readme.txt
<insert file location here> No files to extract
Should I upload an image?

Does that happen with the zip file too? It works fine for me, but I'm using WinZip.

Updated with a small fix to the final level that makes it stop trying to kill you after you complete its main objective.

AFAIK, both of them are similar. I guess, I was using an outdated version. BTW, I can open the file now, since it's '.zip'.

So has anyone finished this? I'm planning on making another one and I want some feedback to improve my formula.

I never got passed the place where you said I was supposed to use climbing gloves. I dunno if I was doing it wrong or if it was just really hard, but I could never make it.

Which specific part did you have trouble with?
