Post your custom Spelunky control scheme here, whenever you've used a gamepad or a keyboard (or something else if you figured how to do that).

Mine's designed to be used exclusively with the numpad (useful if you want two player coop and you don't have a game controller):

Up: Num 8
Down: Num 2
Left: Num 4
Right: Num 6
Whip/Weapon: Num Enter
Jump: Num +
Bomb: Num /
Rope: Num -
Run: Num 5
Purchase/Door: Num 0

That's actually... really nice? I just fiddled around with that briefly and that seems really well thought out. I think I'll use that when doing coop with friends.

I wouldn't have made it in its current form if it wasn't with my friend's help.

I'm very unlucky:
1) I don't have num-pad (laptop)
2) I don't have local gaming buddies.

My laptop has one.

So does my mom and my sister.

..I guess you just go unlucky into choosing a laptop without a numpad. ^.^'

Hmm... *swears to take enough precaution while buying laptops the next time*

I've changed sprint to Spacebar and buy to Shift when playing single player, just out of preference, but the rest is default

Co-op on my laptop is a bit more difficult, as I don't have a numpad. I've tried using WASD with E and Q for bombs/ropes and IJKL with U and O, but it's a liiittle crowded.

I use TFGH and A and S for jump and whip and Q and W for bombs and ropes...
For the first character, I just change the ASZX to (;) (') (.) (/).

Edit: Turned off smilies.

I hope you're only using this on co-op.
Otherwise, it's very complex.

This may seem strange but it's how I've always played classic and so of course I had to change my controls for HD to match. It may seem kinda awkward but it's sorta based on a Mario meets Castlevania type config and it's the only way I can play at this point.

360 controller:

D-pad- movement

A- jump

X- run

B- whip

Y- unused(except in classic where this will cycle inventory)

RB- bomb

LB- rope

LT- exit/purchase

I dunno, works for me!

Not at all, my brain processes it fine; it's a matter of coping to a contour keyboard.

You can get used to anything if you practice.

True...
It happened to me in a lot of games where the controls seemed bad, but then felt it was perfect!
