Only if said item's a damsel or you whip it outside the shop.
Mystery boxes too.

This is the board for the GameMaker version of Spelunky, not the remake. Tongue

Nice try, but you can't whip items out of the store either in that version, so clearly we were talking about HD.

Spelunky is all we care... doesn't matter which version we talk about!

Then why bringing up "whipping items" in this topic if it can only be done in the remake?

This post is situated in the discussion for the original GameMaker game, so talking about features in the HD version like that is technically off topic. Tongue

Obviously. But you were doing it too.

I agree that ideally that all should have been taken to a separate thread though, it did make things a tad confusing.

Off-topic goes the thread!

I tried picking up a freeze-ray gun, but the shopkeeper rushed as if he is gonna kill me. So, I just froze him and jumped on his head! Then, I took his shotgun!

Ah, well they do follow you around when you carry an item, same as in classic.

I did it because I wasn't aware you were talking about the remake.

I need confirmation from the mods if this thread could be used to talk about remake mechanics as well, because that's technically offtopic to this thread.

IE, Blaze, you were no differrent for bringing up offtopic discussions, because the freeze ray is only found in the remake (unless someone backported it to classic as a mod).

This whole conversation got incredibly stupid in a big hurry. Yes, we have a separate forum for XBLA, but that doesn't mean you can't even mention it here. In this case, it was highlighting differences between the two games, and that's perfectly valid to me.

Don't derail threads with mini-modding nonsense about what you can say where.

Just concerned for justice, even if it makes me seem like an maniac here.

Besides, I didn't know they were talking about the differences between those two versions of the game.

And I said "technically off topic", not "everyone agrees that it's off topic". I know you guys wouldn't agree with me here, but I was going under a more stricter definition of "off topic".

I know does in Classic but never looked like he's angry!
But the expression on the face (On HD) looked like he is gonna take out his gun any moment to shoot me!

I guess he WAS excited to see me observe the item.
But I'm too afraid to try it! I don'y want to waste a game(in case he kills me) just to try this.

BTW, There are thousands of off-topic posts in this (and almost every) forum! Just chill, this isn't school/college that we have to follow rules so much. Wink

Edit: Actually, if you observe we WERE comparing the two. See, we were discussing that whether the shopkeeper behaves the same as in Classic. About the Freeze-Ray gun, I just mentioned that I tried testing it, but was too afraid! I just mentioned the words 'Freeze-Ray Gun'.

I said "I didn't realize".

Sorry if I seem cheeky here, it's just that I make mistakes, and this was one of them.
