Yep. I always get a bunch of bombs, a couple ropes, and get them from the top.

For some reason one bomb doesn't kill Shopkeeper in Spelunky (vanilla). But then again, that must be because *somehow* it ends up near me and kills me.
Also, how a shopkeeper can survive shotgun bullets point-blank in the head is beyond me. Just like sarcasm.

Shoppy is supposed to be difficult to kill, as evidenced by him having a low stun time, lots of health as well as the fact that a mantrap can't kill him.

At thhe timw it was a joke
But if you know what you are doing they pose no threat
Pistol stuns him then spam fire. shotgun him stuns him then fire twice more bow and arrow rocket launcher sceptre insta kill. cook a bomb and toss it

Well, if Derek actually does, then it's so secret that only he knows about it.
As far as I know, Pixel doesn't play mods of Cave Story (including Japanese ones). (but then again, I'm just guessing now)
Yes but Derek did say in the source that he "Could not wait to see what people come up with!"

Shopkeeper. Not necessarily "easiest," but once you get his pattern down it's generally really easy, if you're quick about acting.

Piranhas are easy but I get lured into the water when there happens to be a chest in it

Nothing is easier to defeat than a snake, and for anyone to say otherwise is either a falsehood or downright embarrassing on the speaker's part.

Nothing is easier to defeat than a snake, and for anyone to say otherwise is either a falsehood or downright embarrassing on the speaker's part. What about alien? Not the boss alien or the UFO, the plain alien. It moves at the same speed as the snake, but it doesn't stop and start randomly. On the one had the snake sits still some of the time, but on the other hand the alien is 100% predictable. I think reasonable people can disagree about which is easier.

I'm pretty sure the regular alien pauses at moments too, but it's been a long time since I encountered one, so I can't remember. They're equal as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, I can't count how many times I've run into the back of a snake trying to whip it. Then he stops suddenly and I get hurt stepping on his tail, don't judge me damn you. :|

Call me insane, but I find the Exploding Frog, Hawkmen and Shopkeepers easy.
