Go into the game settings and turn the brightness up to at least 75%.

I was having the same issue, but with the brightness turned up, it plays like the PC version as far as how far the light goes in the darkness.

I've been doing this for a while, I just crank it upto 100 and play the whole game that way, as to stop constantly switching back and forth.

I prefer the brightness at max.
It makes the game feel a lot more "at home" ya know what I mean?
