All awesome games are made in gamemaker.
Has anyone else played "Trapdoor Below" yet? Roguelike made with GM, also the most like Rogue of the genre in my opinion. (in terms of learning curve, and simple controls)

I'm collecting them it seems, and planning on making some video collections. Can I test it when you are done? I love torturing myself with constant deaths!

If I wasn't at school I would send you a demo of grim reaper. It's no rogue like... and yet....

Did you know about atmosphir? It's looks similar to Spelunky, if it would be in 3d.

User made levels. Two things come to mind. One, that some levels will be stupidly hard(points at marsgreekgod). Two, some levels will be dumb, because there is always someone willing to make a penis in every game with some level maker.

Yep. All that stuff. Although, I already have seen some very nicely made levels.
The only thing I really concern is store. They sells customize parts for characters, but I mean, first custom characters parts, then special bricks, platinum club levels. I've seen it all so many times...

And I hadn't seen anything impossible to make. It's using something like Blitz3d or, maybe, Ogre3d, no serious things like crowd AI, advance physics, 3.0 shaders and stuff.

Hold your horses. They have "closed betatest" and giving game only after staying in five-time-to-horizon line. Or moral satisfying one of moderators, I suppose.

I don't like this game already.

Legerdemain(very roguelikeish) and Notrium are pretty good games.
Tremulous is also very nice online FPS with some RTS elements.

Hard for me to get into DOS games. Notrium looks really fun.

I got Legerdemain a while back and couldn't even get out of the prison, think I picked the wrong class. It seems pretty deep though, and reminds me a bit of ADoM. I don't know if anyone else would be interested, but Rockstar is offering GTA 1&2 as free downloads now. If you played these back in the day, it might be fun to revisit, but if you've only played the 3d versions it might not.  Undecided

So I frequently search for more Rogue-like games, to further extend my suffering, and found something a little different. Privateer: Ascii Sector is a space exploration game done in real time with Ascii graphics. I believe it's based on the Wing Commander universe. You can make your own missions, and download others'. There is a little video on the site and if you aren't psyched for the game after that, you probably won't like it. Check it out!
