1-yes, food is more important. Eat first, play later
Indeed!
2- No I just died without saving and got the key fairy randomly the first time, haven't gotten her again since. Also those rooms in the Chamber of Extinction are ALL dark now, and items don't regen when you restart so trying to not waste too many flares.
Probably until going to the Chamber of Birth/Life/whatever it is in the remake.
My first playthrough of the original
La-Mulana I managed to find my way around without using flares, because I didn't know how to get there yet.
3-I haven't gone in the Chamber of Birth yet, think I've missed quite a few things because I am scared to hit walls being that they pretty much tell you don't do it in the beginning.
Apparently in rooms where you shouldn't hit stuff waits an eye... I'm not certain though.
Then half the game is hidden in breakable walls WTFF?
Hidden in breakable walls? Reminds me of my
Cave Story mods, except the walls aren't breakable, just fake

And yeah the timer puzzle is exactly the same, but the fifth floor is a little different. You have to bring the One-eye (Backbeard I think?) to the end and then back before you can kill the 100-eye slug. I had to look that up before I ripped my hair to shreds.

The 100-eye slug? Is it that thing before the Shrine of the Mother?
4-Well I would say you could get it then, but it's past. I'll get it for you when I got some extra cash, you're a big fan of the original, you should definitely play it.
Yeah, I definitely should. And for some reason, this reminded me of something I should do tomorrow - re-install
Steam...
Last time I killed Viy, but can't get him in the original, the tentacles don't shoot in this one, but are much longer and wave around. Right now I'm trying to finish off the Twin Labyrinths but there's a new sub-boss who sucks a lot. (I may end up asking you for help too

)
The Twin Labyrinths and Viy...
Viy is easy to beat with Throwing Knives, last I checked, and the Twin Labyrinths will also be harder than I am used to.
