Hey guys thought i might as well post on what tricks i know with the editor that just help to make maps a little bit better, but i am also keen to hear what other tricks people have! So feel free to share them, and i'll try to make a list of all tricks you can do so far.

First trick i'll share is one i found out recently and that is using water to accelerate your spelunkers jumps without the need of spring boots (Or use them as well for a double boost!).

First you need a unit of water that is either 1 unit above you or two or more units high (also pools of water do not work).

When you have the unit of water. Stand either half way in the water so it doesn't make the splashing sound when your in it(this works with water thats 2 units higher+not a pool), or you can just stand directly under the water (Not in it).
Now when you jump you should reach heights around 2x as much as your normal jump. You can also chain the units of water, and with a double jump (pushing jump whenever there is a unit of water you pass) you can reach even higher heights!.

NOTE: You jump 1/2 a unit higher when 1/2 out of the water.

Ive attached a test map just so you can see how to do this.

The same water jump trick works with lava. If you'r part way into the lava(close enough without dying) you will jump higher than normal.

Yeh ive noticed that, you can also shoot arrows at max power through the lava this way.

Its all about timing, just go underneath and spam jump, or if your good time the jumps.

Just was testing out ideas with 'switches', elevators and placed explosive frogs today. Trying to figure out how to do a single block triggered switch with horizontal affects. But yeh heres the test map i made, no descriptions in this but you can get the general idea by playing it.

Nice job with the switch map there. The part with the explosive frog and the cape was pretty sweet.

Hey guys, been a while since i touched spelunky. (Mostly because i am wanting a more improved map editor) But i found a trick that is quite obvious but still was'nt aware of.

It uses yetis/mummys to pause a players progression until they have a movable block.

Anyway i'll try to get more maps made but i cant really promise anything
