I was thinking of the story and here is what I came up with. Each Character experiences a small piece of a storyline whenever they play. Gameplay will most likely be Terreria/Binding of Isaac (NO CRAFTING! I HATE CRAFTING!) so each play through will be pretty short (45 minutes to an hour) so you will play lots of times with certain events revealing backstory. When all the characters are played frequently you will advance the story to the point where you will have the games final boss fight. So its basically a bunch of short playthroughs with permadeath that end up contributing to a large story.

EDIT:We need a shocking revelation at the end of the game that shocks everyone.

Character Bios
Captain: Connors: Capt. was out pillaging the final frontier when his engine malfunctioned and he crash landed in [wherever we are] He likes lasers and is good at taking stuff that isn't his.


Damsel: This Damsel has had enough of being kidnapped. She's out to prove she's as tough as any other hero. She enjoys shopping and wrestling with bears.

Purple Karjam: A being who has tiny nanobots replacing the atoms of his body. As to what the nanobots are made out of, PK says "smaller atoms".

Supers Bio:

SuperX46 is the 46th X. Because of this, he some how is much stronger then the other 45 X's. Because of this many people add Super to his name. The strength difference between the other 45 X's is minor, but somewhat noticeable. Many people have asked him what's under his cloak. Super says: "I don't know! I've never taken it off!"

Never thought about the "smaller atoms" part, maybe that can be canon to PK?

(In case you're wondering, yes, I'm thinking of releasing PK and related mythos on a license similar to Jenny Everywhere. However, I'm also thinking of a "canon" version used as a guideline to creating one's own implementation if they so desired).
