With permission from Wonkyth, I have begun this topic. This focuses on my Cave Story mods. Feel free to say anything you wish to. It has happened that somebody swore once on one of my mod topics, and that resulted in me making the enemies harder in Shane's Cave Story. If you want to talk about other CS mods such as Jenka's Nightmare, you may do so on this topic too.

Most of the mods for Cave Story can be found somewhere at the Cave Story Tribute Site Forums. Or you could learn to mod Cave Story there.

Haunted House Story version 0.3 by Mixer8421


MY MODS: THE DOWNLOAD LINKS:
Cave Story - Time Warp version 0.5? Not certain which version it is. This isn't a demo!
Shane's Cave Story Episode 1 version 0.9X which is the newest version...
Shadow of the Stars version 0.0.0.4 and there are some unfixable glitches that I'm aware of Sad  The demo ends with an impossible-to-win boss fight in the Sky Maze.
Cave Story Re:coded version 0.2 which takes place in a digital world.
The Curse of Il'andri'iel version 0.1 which is... weird due to the name.
If you want, you could check these out and deliver feedback.
Into the Unknown version 0.1, which is my sixth mod. It's way different than any of my previous mods, you'll see why.









Also, any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.

The links are in the order that I made those mods.
And I am aware of glitches, but some of them I can't fix.
In Shadow of the Stars, going to the new Sacred Grounds - B3 area, there is supposed to be a Monster X boss, but he doesn't appear. So it's boring there... Sad
If you have a Life Pot (music room), you will be able to reach a secret area!



ERROR:
The forums doesn't seem to accept my attachment of 45.1 KB (".png" file). So much for the secret area's screenshot Undecided

Playing Time Warp, some interesting changes here. I like the broken eggs, and some of the path changes. Not sure why Balrog got nerfed though.

1. If you explain what "nerfed" means, then I'll do something about it.
2. I am playing through it as well, searching for things to change. The hidden ending is much, MUCH harder there.
3. I plan to make enemies stronger. Maybe add those things from the Plantation in Grasstown, I dunno.
4. I may add secret areas - but if you want to suggest a secret area, say so and it may get used.  Cool

Those of you who are playing Shane's Cave Story, I'm working on version 0.9½ now - more changes, new foes...
So if you find glitches, say so and I'll do something about it...

Also, I *may* add glitches on purpose, but that will be because I like referencing stuff. Maybe make a reference to Kingdom Hearts Re:coded or something  Grin

Mind being more specific? D'you mean all three or one of them?

Anyway, I'll go on-topic like this:
Cave Story - Time Warp is basically my first mod, which I made last year. When I work on that mod again, it will be changed greatly! Maybe even a few new secret areas!
Shane's Cave Story is my second mod, which I began on 11 February this year (my dad's birthday). If I was teleported into Cave Story, then this is what possibly could happen. The enemies are tougher - Drolls (orange foes in the Plantation) are in Icytown (Grasstown's replacement) and have 128 HP instead of 64. The first weapon is a sword, not a Polar Star (heck, it's in this game, but unusable!). The demo ends in the Plantation, but you can continue onward, see some changes... the Last Cave is the one with Red Demon, and the next release will have new enemies!
Shadow of the Stars is my third mod, and my first one with a new title screen. Instead of a missile launcher, you get the Sword Launcher in the Sacred Grounds. And it's the first location you can teleport to. No falling blocks, too Grin  The demo ends in the Sky Maze.
The Dark Age doesn't have a demo yet.

Well, I am planning on making major changes to it after I finish playing through it to see what I have to change. Toroko will hopefully be saved before she is taken away, King won't die, the red flowers will probably be burnt... I dunno.

So you didn't find the music room in SotS that is down the passage near the first boss?
There's a Life Pot hidden there, which can aid in reaching a secret area after the second boss fight.

I've decided to give a few tips for SCS. if you are playing it:
1. The fists are the replacement of the Machine Gun. Aim downwards and attack (if it's level 3) and you'll get a pleasant surprise Smiley
2. There's a Teleporter in a new building in Icytown. The power supply should be switched on to make it two-way.
3. In the Sand Zone, don't follow the person who gives you a weapon - she's a boss with 19200 HP. Instead, get all the Critters (yep, no puppies!) before you go to the Sand Zone Residence. And make certain the new weapon is at Level 3 (MAX). It's overpowered then Grin
4. You can't get the Booster in this game. You'll find out why if you go to the Plantation Smiley
5. There are talking Mesa in the Outer Wall. Mesa are those guys from the Sacred Grounds that throw blocks at you, if you have reached it.

EDIT:
Okay, if you guys have any ideas, suggestions, etc. then post them today.
Tomorrow I will be testing the mod to see whether I can find glitches, etc.
Hopefully I won't find any, but if I do, I'll fix them first before continuing testing.
If I'm lucky, I'll be able to upload version 0.9½ sooner than anticipated!

SECOND EDIT:
No suggestions or ideas?

I have expected at least one or two, but this subforum is dead, I guess. Oh well.
It hurts.
It is chaos and law and neutrality and unaligned. The Sky Maze of Shane's Cave Story is in chaos. This is randomly exploding. There will be exploding crates!
If I'm unlucky, it will probably be uploaded in ± 2 weeks. I dunno. Only time will tell Smiley
