R-Type Series

R-Type series is a VERY hard series of space shooters that are FAR Superior to the Gradius series in my opinion! As you would expect, you die in one hit.
These games have a large amount of power ups to help you on the way but that doesn't make it all that easier. Anyway for those who want to see what the game looks like then take a look at these screenshots!

E-he-he, nice game! I used to play it on my ZX Spectrum when I was a kid.

Yeah, I have Tyrian 2000, I think it was free on GOG.com actually. Totally worth it
Anyway, I think I liked Gradius more, but didn't play either that much. Probably just because I love Konami though.

And
this reminds me of a mini-game in
La-Mulana
which, in a secret area, is important. Why? To open the way ahead, you need to get 120000 points in that mini-game. I think.

Oh, doesn't everything remind you of La-Mulana or Cave Story?

Yup! They took it from R-Type
EDIT: You mean the thing in the Bydo Station, right?

Just saw this. And no, not everything reminds me of those games
The mini-game in La-Mulana (PR3) was inspired by Gradius, from what I've read.
