It hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts.

Chzo Mythos is a scary series of adventure games. They may seem like a cookie cutter horror game but they are MUCH scarier then any horror game you've played.
Yes. Even scarier then Amnesia. Discussion about this series goes here...

Father, why?!

^Search 5 Days A Stranger Download. 5 Days A Stranger is the first game in the series.

While they're reallllly not that scary, they're still worth a playthrough.

Of note: They're created by Ben Croshaw. Yes, the game reviewer of Zero Punctuation, Yahtzee.

Glad you decided to give them a try after I suggested them! Wink
Also, don't forget to try out some of the other awesome adventure games made with AGS. If you're not sure what to play next, I'd be happy to offer up a few titles. Cheesy

Cabadath is a pretty nice guy once you get over the whole stabbing you to death thing.
EDIT: ^I am thinking of trying Trilby: Art Of Theft next.

And SuperX46 knew the name of the king.

Art of theft is fun, and not in the least scary. Tongue
Kinda wished he'd made more like it, actually... :/

Yeah, I didn't get as much into 5 days (watched an LP first anyway, then probably played them out of order) but Art of Theft I really liked. Yahtzee has a good deal now, so probably no more games from him, but Gunpoint is one I'm looking forward to which has a sort-of similar feel...I guess?

and p.s. Not nearly as scary as Amnesia or Fatal Frame.

I've had nightmares twenty-times more worse than the Chzo Mythos, although I didn't complete "7 Days a Skeptic." Couldn't get into that one room.
And then my father decided to go on sites and then a virus attacked, and then my father used System Restore. And deleted the entire Chzo Mythos. So now I have to do everything from the start  Angry

Which is why I always make a restore point whenever I download or install something or create new files or modify Cave Story mods that I'm working on.

Guess I'll install the Chzo Mythos as soon as I get a chance. Which will probably be difficult to do if my father plays Age of Empires 3. Usually when a game is open for about one second.

Funny you should say that, what with Yahtzee releasing his latest game today and all! ^___^

I finished it once. But then my other computer started randomly crashing. I was so close to actually getting all the Trilby symbols. And because of 5 Days a Stranger, Trilby got too scared to rob houses again. That's how he got arrested afterwards. And I agree with Wonkyth. Art of Theft should have been "scary."

Haha, I was actually saying that I wish he'd made more games like AoT, not that he'd made it scary! ^__^
Interestingly enough, his latest game is made with Game Maker, unlike all his old games, which were all made with AGS... Tongue

Guess he got bored with AGS.
I actually understand AGS better than Game Maker. And I was working on something, but my other computer started randomly crashing, so now I have to retry. Like I said,
I've had nightmares twenty-times more worse than the Chzo Mythos,
so horror games is something that doesn't make me scared. Maybe I'll make something scarier one day, I don't know.

Anyway, I assume I'm allowed to ask questions like what to do after the cutscene where the one character walks up and down near the escape area? I was stuck there. Interacted with everything, yet nothing available.
