Stuff worth Stealing

You see a shopkeeper and he's got something and you want it. Maybe you don't have the money for it or you just don't want to pay, so you decide to swipe it from him. What's on display to make you feel like this? Something you have to have because it's just that good, or are you like me and just feel the urge to steal everything he has except for dice? (But now he's got loot behind the rock so maybe even the dice!)

Jetpack, 12xBombs, Damsel (Still doing the 8x rescue achievement), Shotgun (Makes for an easy steal!). Those are always -must- haves. Everything else is nice too. Doesn't mean much since I always attempt grand theft everything

Usually just the shotgun, if I'm trying to get the kills trophy. Otherwise I've stopped being so stingy with my money and just buying stuff. That seems to be working, at least 'til area 4.

Normally, if I see climbing gloves, springy shoes, jetpacks, and other movement affecting items I'll steal them (and proceed to kill the shopkeeper and take the rest of his stuff). Sometimes I'll buy things if I don't think I can escape without dying. Unless it's a weapon shop, then I ALWAYS steal from it

Usually, my decision to steal is situational.  If I specifically want to try something out, like the much-maligned-and-oft-modified items (mainly machete, bow, and teleporter, though the last has been more discussed than modified), then sure.  Barring that, on ordinary play I'm most tempted when I'm dangerously low on inventory items.  If I don't have enough bombs to get into the black market (i.e., one), and a shop has some, then I may decide that I will be slaughtering the marketkeepers when I get there.

I used to steal all the time, whenever I could I would. Only time I wouldn't steal is if it had a bunch of 'junk' like Parachutes, Pitcher's Mitt, and bombs/rope if I already got plenty. Now with the lowered prices I find myself not stealing unless it's a Jetpack or a shotgun.

Pitcher's Mitt is one of my favorite items, I'd consider stealing for that. Being able to throw any object (almost any object) accurately for great distances is a big plus. Also makes trips of juggling corpses to the Altar -that- much easier.

Kill every one.  Steal everything from any shop.  Even when it's 4 parachutes.   

It makes going for the kapala alot easier.

A bombshop full of green bomb pickups is worth an attempted assassination for the goods.

I find my self stealing less and less. As a rule I pretty much always raid the black market, unless I'm rollin' or something and theres crap in it or whatever. Other then that, it takes a lot.

Jetpack usually is an instant Shopkeeper raid. Climbing gloves plus something else (cape, spring shoes) might make me go for it too, but these days, buying is easier, unless I am particularly aiming for a high score (but I generally don't do high score runs unless I get set up for them in the beginning of the game, since my highscore is 1.5m at this point).

Personally I think raiding a weapon shop is foolish. You're only walking away with one item (that you can lose), and while it's good, it's hardly necessary and it's best use is killing off shopkeepers.

When you raid a shop and get the items, you get a shotgun. This shotgun is important because you need it now.  You need it and plenty of bombs to deal with shopkeepers at level ends. Those shopkeepers are probably the most dangerous part of the game, especially considering they happen now on every level. They also consume the most resources and waste the most time.

The only place I'd raid a weapon shop for a shotgun alone would be in area 4, or maybe area 3 in anticipation of area 4. Even then I don't need it. A trusty rock would will help me out enough!

Weapon shops have bombs there too. I've seen a stack of 12, 3, 3, and a pistol there before. It turned into a shotgun after I had a little talk with the shopkeeper

This is true. Generally what I see is people just pick up a gun and shoot the shopkeeper just to get a shotgun. I'm not entirely sure bombs are worth it  either, but  I could definitely accept a case for bombs being worth the aggro.

I've taken to only raiding the Black market and even then only if I don't have a jetpack shotgun or enough to buy the ankh. On the CoG runs I've done where I've not raided the Black Market I tend to find things run a little smoother.

I say always raid the black market, no exceptions.  There's guaranteed to be something in there you can use to get your killing spree started, and you're pretty much set for the rest of the game if you win.

Jetpack. Perhaps the shotgun too, depends. And if there's a clear drop below, the cape is also very tempting.
