It seems life is determined to make me as miserable as possible. My dad didn't come home last night and still isn't, and just now I learned it's because he got arrested for driving drunk. He'll be released when he's sober, but SERIOUSLY! HE KNOWS BETTER THEN THIS FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

Does he even give a shit about us? It'll be hard to fight the urge to scream his ear off, but I learned that's a very bad way to react.

As lame as it is, I think it's much better that he got arrested instead of getting into a very dangerous accident.
Hopefully he will have learned his lesson.

As the above members said, I hope he learns his lesson.

He's lucky he'd getting off with only that, too. Just tell him, not too harshly, that you don't respect him as much for what he did or that he shouldn't do something like that again because he's being a bad influence, or something along those lines. But don't shout, that really doesn't do a whole lot but make yourself feel worse, and have more stress and anger between you and him.

But yeah, if you want him to change, it would probably be good to use this as a chance to confront him.

Is this the first time something like this has happened, or is drinking kind of a regular problem? You make it sound like you've had to yell his ear off a bit.

Maybe this situation will make him realize he should do something? If not, then maybe you and some other loved ones may want to sit him down and tell him there is clearly a problem.
