Eurogamer previewed Spelunky XBLA and they seem to be seriously impressed by it!

Seems that the game is still months off, but it's great to see such a glowing preview!

Fact is, in a game like Spelunky you just can't trust people. The best example came in a two-player game, where a mate responded to the presence of a bat with the immortal words "I'll take care of this." He went to whip it, missed and hit me, got bitten, panicked and dropped a bomb on my stunned body, got bitten again and impaled himself on some spikes as I was blasted to smithereens. On the game over screen, you could see the bat still nipping away at his corpse.

I'll be streaming both single player and co-op live at the site I stream for when the game comes out. I do classic Spelunky and TLS from time to time amongst the other stuff I do, gonna increase in frequency in the days leading up to release, if you're interested in watching when the time comes.

I stream for a site called Vinesauce, but nothing will ever live up to Hardcore Bro's Spelunky streams in my mind. :C

I did some custom levels last night, they were fun. Just dove into the level-sharing subforum here, chose some random levels so they were hit or miss, but still a great time. I also did some mods the other day, and the viewers LOVE the Everything Blows Up mod, it's pretty funny.

EDIT: That being said, if anyone knows off the top of their head some of the best levels in the level-sharing subforum, I'd be much obliged! Random picking from the 11 pages is fun, but it would still be good to sample from the cream of the crop. I suppose I should do the ones with the most views/replies.

Taste Like Spelunky Metroidvania is one of the best level sets there is. I think hali updated it, making it harder to sequence break, after I played it though

Since I like self promotion and also helpfuling, have you got the Editor Plus mod? It pimps out the editor in many a way, and lots of custom levels use it.

Also checkpoints, which are hella useful.

I do indeed have Editor+. I have Spelunky 1.1, TLS, Magic Signs, and Editor+. Around a year or so ago I did a custom level competition for Spelunky for our viewers, and recommended they use Editor+. Three winners got $10 Steam games. Lots of great levels, it was a blast to play through them all. I'm going to do another custom-level competition whenever the release date is announced, or when the release date is drawing near.

One thing I liked about the custom levels made by the Vinesauce community is that a lot of them had fantastic themes than I haven't found too much in the level-sharing forum here. One of my personal favorites recreated the Temple of Trials from Fallout 2 using Spelunky, and that was very cool. If only he could have used the scorpions found in XBLA, haha.
