I'll need the moderators or admins' permission first. And I won't be able to post screenshots because I know of zero free image hosting sites.
2. All posts are shown wrong. The first post is last and the last post is first? What in blazes? Fixed, I had the "show recent posts at top" option on, and thought it would be shown along with the recent PMs, which I have 0 of

DID YOU KNOW that Genie doesn't come from the word Djinn (or the plural, Djinni)!
Turns out it's from the Latin Genius, which was a spirit of imagination or power.
Which prompted this great discussion about language and evolution of such. The end result is me and a friend thought perhaps they shared a route word, a route-concept more of since they seemed so similar, but then remembered that Idlam is new and Rome is...well, Old as Balls. It's more likely the word and even concept of Djinni evolved from the Latin Genii, especially considering Roman influence in the area.
History and Language can get really interesting at times.

Genii is plural of Genius in Latin. Sorry.
Oh man I just want to rant about all these cool things I learn and can you tell I want to go into teaching?
Like I could give you a whole lesson about Roman Wine (Wine! The glorious drink of the heavens!). Or about Alcohol's importance in various cultures in general, and I don't mean symbolically or ritualistically, but for pure survival. And by extension Tea. Yes they are connected.

Hold onto your butts everyone. Last night before I posted all the above, I took some footage of me teaching a few Norse Myths. Here's the first in what might become a regular thing, on the Silent God, Vidar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itY0shTltjU

Yeah, I'd have to have a few drinks to tell stories to the internet too. That's cool though, I don't think I ever heard anything of Vidar apart from Ragnarok. I just keep reading the few stories in my mythology book I saved from school. Will you do the story of Odin and Mimir? OH! and Loki and Thor's journey to the land of the giants that's my favorite Also, talking about that shoe made me keep thinking of an old nursery rhyme...

My grandfather in Cape Town had a stroke one or two days ago, and as a result, I'm going to Cape Town tomorrow. So I won't be able to sign in and reply to stuff. And I don't want to be grounded for two years, so I have to go.
