Alright, who are some good candidates to be forum mods? Please explain why!

Well, I'm already a forum moderator on the King Arthur's Gold forums, so it wouldn't be anything new to me. I check these forums upwards of 10 times a day anyways.

That said, I've only been around here about one and a half years.
If seniority is important, then I guess Mars is the obvious choice.

Well Mars for one thing, he was acting as mod for a bit after Del gave him her account, but stuff got muddled up and he got locked out of it. He's fairly responsible and level-headed and IIRC he did everything he could to keep the forum running smooth with the level of power Del's account had while he could (hopefully that wording is understandable).

Wonky is also a candidate in my mind, he's really calm and collected too and apparently mods another forum so he's got experience.

Aside from them I'm not entirely sure, I can see Arucard, Glennriek, and Keg having the type of personalities that would be fitting of a mod, but none of them are on that often (keg lurks and glen's slowly being more active however).

Also HyperMe totally shouldnt be a mod, I remember him nominating himself the last few times it was brought up and I just cant trust that behavior

Oh and if you mod anyone, please for the love of God give them actual power, not just the ability to delete posts in a single board like Del had, that wasnt nearly enough to keep the forum working correctly and that's part of the reason why we keep having to harass you

Mars without a doubt. He's proven before that he's capable, when he took over Del's account (before he had gotten locked out, at least).

I'd also put my vote behind Bae and Kegluneq. While they haven't done anything specific to stand out, their general demeanor seems the type I'd be content with giving power to.

Also voting against Bae not because spite, but because I don't trust them given the crazy 'hurr durr eat rocks' crap. I mean, they could of just make a mod where rocks are edible.

Also Wonyth and Kegluneq are pretty cool guys, and probably wouldn't abuse power. Of course neither would I, but since I insulted people two years ago, I'm out of the race.

Dude that isn't true at all. Not only did I tweet at Derek to get back on to fix stuff, but I was also looking into and actually getting somewhere in making an entirely new forum so that we wouldn't have to put up with the spam, the threat of leaving may have helped drill it into Derek's mind that things were sort of bad.

This is a legitimate argument, I mean the rock thing is mostly a joke and to mess with Hali, but I agree that it's very silly behavior that doesn't show the maturity required to be a mod (not that mods can't be a little silly)

I'm not good with GM, Mars cant figure out Hali's code, Wonky can't get GM for the time being and no one else wants to make it.
Plus if it exists I can't bug Hali nearly as much.

-Maturity, the ability to keep a level head when dealing with situations
-Activity, being around enough to be there when needed
-Diligence? Well, a mod needs to actually keep up with the issues and not let them build up.

Okay Bae did do important work towards fixing shit that was broken. Have a cupcake I guess? However wanting to bug Hali is just not nice. Maybe I'll explain the TLS stuff in the future.

Also yeha SuprX46 is not striking my as moderator material, given various outbursts in threads.

Furthermore I also apparently meet all three of Bae's requirements for moderationing. Well, technically I shoved angry outbursts Hyperme to a different community, but he's not around here.

For one humorous moment there, I half expected things to exacerbate to the point someone else would have to step in, ironic in a thread deciding who has what it takes to mod.

As for the people suggesting themselves: Bad form. If your peers think you have what it takes, they'll suggest you, but suggesting yourself just serves to make them doubt you.

I think it's agreed that Mars should be a mod, and Wonky has a few recommends too, any one else or are they the only two we can agree on atm?
