hey there dead forums, i dont suppose one of you can make a quick mod of a mod for me can you? I want to make a harder, remixed version of my old level pack, but im finding that simply editing the level isnt of much use, so i figured id draw it out on paper first and make a level based off of that, but i cant really compare to the original easily enough by just scrolling around the editor window, and screening multiple parts of the level and stitching back together in PDN is very annoying.

so anyway, i wanted to know if someone could make a full level viewer so i could easily look at the whole level and redesign it, i remember that theres another whole level mod for v99.5 but i dont know where its hosted, however i still own it and can put the exe up if anyone wants to decompile it and use it as a base

You're computer has a program that can do this.  It's called "notepad".  You can see your entire custom level in one simple block!  Granted, it's a block of text, but you can still see the whole thing.  If you know what symbols are what, you can piece a level together no problem.

Yeah I have no idea what most of the symbols are off the top of my head, besides how hard would it to be to just make a full level viewer when theres already one for a different version?

Not exactly a source file but it tells you how to do it and it seems rather simple

In fact the whole thing is short enough for me to quote here

1. change the lines:
  • screen_w = 672; // was 320
  • screen_h = 672; // was 240
2. change all follow-on references to "320" to use "screen_w" instead

3. similarly for "240" to "screen_h"

After this, you can play the entire game in whole-level mode. (download here)
You may also wish to run it in Debug mode, and set "global.drawHUD=0"

I'll have it out for you soon.

EDIT: Wait, did you want one for Editor+, TLS, or both?
BAM! Doesn't matter, since I did it for both! Vanilla too!

Whole Level Spelunky in three delicious flavors:

and Tastes Like Spelunky (so... wouldn't that be Spelunky flavored?...)

thanks a lot, keg, it works perfectly for what i need it for owo

as an aside, its fascinating how much slowdown the frozen zone prevents, in well populated levels im getting about 2/3 speed  Tongue

That's why there's the frozen zone? :O
I always kinda assumed it was something like that, but seeing how little memory it takes up, why couldn't Spelunky have just used more memory, and not had the frozen zone? It only ever takes like 35 MB's whenever I look.
