"Level feeling" messages hide the compass pointer for several seconds. This in very annoying during speedruns, when you lose precious seconds because the jungle level has both undead and giant pirahna.

Chances are, however, you're likely to make it to the bottom layer quickly anyway. Besides, does it really matter?

It does, but then again I don't rely on the compass. That much.

Yeah, this isn't that major but I can see how it'd get a little annoying

More of a little pest, but a pest nonetheless.

I think this is a valid point.  I'll have the compass marker stay on the screen (although maybe the sprite will become smaller so as not to cover the text).

Or you could move the pointer completely so that it surrounds the spelunker.

wouldn't that be a little too distracting? unless the marker was like, really really tiny and transparent...

Or, y'know, making a compass somewhere at the border of the screen. But most likely not, so overlapping the compass pointer over the text would be best.

Well, if the level feeling messages hide the compass pointer, then you'd know that the exit is straight downwards anyway. If it was more to the left, or more to the right, it would appear in the left or right corner, out of the way of the text, so I don't see why this would be such a big issue, really.

No, that's not the issue. Even if the exit is in the corner, the snakes/dark/yeti/ufo/etc text hides the arrow until it disappears.

So it completely blocks out the arrow. Wow, this is news to me because I've only gotten a compass 3-4 times in all of my runs.

Really? I always get the compass when I can, it saves you so much trouble on the ice levels.

I only worried about the compass when trying the time trial (which was a trying time, believe me). The rest of the time, I like stumbling around blindly for the exit, especially on the ice levels.

The disappearing compass was a bit annoying, but whenever it happened I was too busy panicking about the fact that it was pitch black or that vampires were trying to kill me to care much about it.

OH, right! I forgot about that. If I had properly thought this out, then I would have remembered - This happens to me all the time.
I think I had an idiot moment when I was reading this post, and typed that.
Yeah, I guess it is kind-of an issue then. Well, yeah, I guess it should be fixed then.
