I've read the thread on how to make oRooms, and I feel like making a room, however I would like a tutorial on the matter. An example to follow that explains what letters and numbers generate what, how to place them, etc. =)

I haven't mucked around with the rooms Spelunky generates, but here's the gist of it.
In the various room gen scripts, you'll see they start out with big long strings of numbers and letters, many of which are 0's. These strings are the stretched out versions of the rooms Spelunky creates. I think there's an example of what they look like un-stretched at the top of the script, actually.
Anyway, all those numbers and letters tell the game what to put where. The lower part of each level gen script shows what the game creates for each letter and number. Any symbol can be used to generate any object; it just has to be designated as such.
