I think Derek has given up on us. Not on Spelunky in itself, but the community. He hasn't been on in ages to improve the sites, and it doesn't look like he'll do so in the future. If anything, I won't be here if he does.
Consider this my resignation. I'll be giving my account to Mars so he can moderate the forums from here on in. I'll be here from time to time, but I won't be a moderator.

Man you can go ahead and resign from your nonjob if you want, but you're aware that Derek Yu is extremely fucking busy, right?
Edit: if you want to get some improvements made, an excellent first step would be to do something about that morass of stickied threads at the top of the forum (for "something", read "unsticky like half of them and merge most of the rest, what is wrong with you people").

Eh, I still believe in Derek. An indie developer like him should know that without his faithful community, there's only so much else to show your game rocks. Also, he's got the TIGSource forums to worry about too!
