the netherstone thats in the nether makes nice monster traps.
just light em up and wait for the mobs to mindlessly jump into the fire.
I once had a group of 5 spiders all spawn on a mountan near the fires i lit on the netherstone 5/5 spiders chose to hop in the fire.

That's a stupid name, I call it meatblocks.  I really like the popup names in the inventory now, which will cut down a lot of confusion. Like people posting threads "what is this thing?" So I started a new world for beta, and found diamond pretty quickly. Kept digging to bedrock and like an open invitation there's a little stream pouring directly onto an open lava pit.  After collecting around 40 obsidian, I need to start getting supplies to venture into the nether. I'm gonna make some armor, got a diamond sword (don't think I'll need though), and I know water doesn't work there. What else should I know to bring? Lot's of stone to make bridges? Buckets to bring back a bunch of lava? |

No reason for me to ever head into the nether until recipes start calling for it. That place seriously freaks me out.
It'd be a million times better if I just change the sounds. Those ghasts sounds horrible.

Yeah, but the lava pool already had been turned into obsidian by a natural stream. Plus I'd probably like to make portals elsewhere too.
So is there any difference between the pigmen and zombie pigmen? Or they both even in there? And can I still volley ghast shots back at them?

Normal Pigmen can't be found in the game yet.
And as far as I know, you should still be able to play baseball with the ghast fireballs.

I made a save recently and molded a portal using dirt, water, and lava. I went in and died so i returned to get my stuff and left. A few days later (in-game) I was throwing eggs around my house trying to get a pet chicken and then I heard a cry that sounded very familiar for some reason out of curiosity I step outside to find a Ghast floating near my portal. |

Its supposed to be really rare though, but would still be nice to make your portals places where they have no room to spawn, according to what mars said they can spawn a far way away from the portal, but you can still build in mountains, underground, or just set up anti ghast pillars WE GET CAKE INMINECRAFT
