I don't know how you get diamond.
If you still don't know how to get diamonds then I can tell you that diamonds are found rarely when you are very deep underground.  If you want to find things out about the game the go here http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki

I started playing Minecraft back where you could spawn humans(called "mobs" back then) by pressing G, who then wandered your world. I liked the game, but soon forgot it.
Years later, I returned and found a ridiculously mindfuckingly awesome game.

I know, right?

I believe diamonds spawn around the redstone levels.

I challenge y'all to do this:
Make a giant statue of a creeper with green cloth, and include a face with black cloth, then send me a picture of the statue(try to make all of it visible), then another one of the statue burning to the ground.
Good luck!

I hate creepers.

They've blown up my spleef stadium on my SMP server twice now. I have NO FREAKING CLUE how they got in there in the first place -- It's well lit, and the entrance to the stadium is at the top of a flight of stairs -- a monster couldn't just WANDER up and in. Maybe I should tear the place down leaving the pit I dug, then rubuild the whole thing entirely out of INVedit'd glowstone or something, if that's what it takes to stop creepers appearing in my stadium.

I reset my SMP server a few days ago and now I'm working on rebuilding my castle entirely out of obsidian.

The good news is, I've thought up a new trap. It doesn't look as suspicious as my previous design (An upside-down torch-gravel mechanism powered pyramid balanced on a piece of iron ore) but I haven't tested it yet (although I have tested its invidual mechanisms)

Here's the plan on how to build it:

1. Dig four blocks straight down.

B = Any block, but preferably something with can't withstand explosions at all. Dirt, sand, netherrack, cake...
. = Empty space
Code:
. . . . .
. . . . .
B B . B B
B B . B B
B B . B B
B B . B B
B B B B B

2. fill up the hole like so, except for the top, which is left empty.

_ = Wooden pressure plate. Don't know if stone ones work.
! = TNT.

Code:
. . . . .
. . . . .
B B . B B
B B _ B B
B B B B B
B B ! B B
B B B B B

3. Sit your bait on top of the hole -- This can be any desirable block but preferably something which doesn't look artificial. For example, pumpkins in dirt areas, clay in sand areas, iron ore if you can't find either of the above, and gold ore if the trap's deep underground.

% = Bait.

Code:
. . . . .
. . % . .
B B . B B
B B _ B B
B B B B B
B B ! B B
B B B B B

4. Now put either sand or gravel on top of THAT.

G = Gravel/sand.

Code:
. . G . .
. . % . .
B B . B B
B B _ B B
B B B B B
B B ! B B
B B B B B

5. Build in the terrain on one side however you like to make it look natural.

Code:
. . G B B
. . % B B
B B . B B
B B _ B B
B B B B B
B B ! B B
B B B B B

VARIATIONS:

-- If you're too lazy to go to all the effort of collecting TNT, do something like this instead:

L = Lava.

Code:
. . . B B
. . G L B
. . G L B
. . % B B
B B . B B
B B . B B
B B B B B

-- Digging a deep pit of doom (with care taken to leave a layer of blocks between it and the TNT) underneath the mechanism will make it more lethal (plus you get to take the victim's stuff!).

Code:
. . G B B
. . % B B
B B . B B
B B _ B B
B B B B B
B B ! B B
B B B B B
B . . . B
B . . . B
B . . . B

The plan for mods

The worst thing - I'm going to purchase it, even if it will eat my entire current game budget for this year.

Update

Quote from: Notch, after 10 minutes
* Let players sign up as “mod developers”. This will cost money (edit: no longer costs money!)
Wink

Update

The cost of the mod api

Quote from: Notch, after one hour
Because of overwhelming feedback, the cost of the mod api access will be 0 dollars.

So, no source code for us. But I still like source-for-money idea. I realised what, if Notch will release source now, it will be chaos.
