any one check out my world at all? save is there and it's epic!
Um, yeah I'm much more prone to getting addicted to LPs rather then games so im busy watching the series that you linked |D
TO THE X CAVE
Will do eventually sometime
...I'm also terrified of videogame water...
HOLY CRAP! I'm not alone!! I seriously hate water all together, but I remember walking quite a distance in Oblivion to keep from having to swim across a river or something. Every character I play is aquaphobic (real word?) that's too funny.
Yeah, if you don't like surprises and the like, you'd be better off on mutliplayer since even on peaceful the jarring
"THAR'S A CAVE!!!" sounds are likely to mess you up, you get used to them though..
I think I'm more afraid of water in games then in real life, simply because water is an obstacle in games and many less scary things irl, who ever heard of the water park of doom.
of course when faced with water myself anything around or over my height is terrifying
another reason for the vidja game water being so scary though is your decreased abilities, murky surroundings, and often inclusion of an air meter, so while im worrying about getting stuck somewhere underwater and drowning i am on the constant look out for usually large enemies that attack from any side that usually i am helpless against, that situation is in almost every 3d game with water, and if its not then i still worry about it anyway
in fact, the whole fear probably came from sonic games, the genesis was in the house before I was and I have many memories of going up that flooding shaft in chemical plant zone 2 and hearing that anxiety inducing counter. Possibly ironic, sonic is the only 2d game i cant handle water in, since ive never played another with such a quick timer (metroid and cave story at least start you off at a high number, not 5)
now whenever i or someone im watching plunges into the murky depths i freeze up, especially bad when im alone and do it by accident, like last night in mine craft
;w; every time i got out of my boat i fell underneath it and was trapped until i climbed back in, then when i finally got on land (keep in mind this was like maybe 20 tiles wide pond at most) the damn thing floated away and i felt very betrayed by my boat
Also Aquaphobia is the correct word, though Hydrophobia is also used, but it has more meanings then just "Fear of Water"
There's a game called hydrophobia... let us stay away from that
Wow I wrote all that and realized I wasnt even near done...
For what it's worth I remember the water in Perfect World (mmo) werent too bad at all, its pretty much just sunken hills that have the area's grass pattern on them, filled with fairly clear water, it also helped that during my encounters with them i was either swimming to avoid huge ass monsters on my way to my friend's spawn point (different races start in dif areas, i died like 5 times going through an area with high level mobs) or swimming WITH my friend (we saw sea turtles lawl)
Sometimes even the normal music scares me erlol, sudden chords out of nowhere, its mostly the dark that gets in my way though, just annoying since i cant see what im doing, I made tiki tower sort of things to keep my area lit up, and made a similar structure at my starting point, complete with an arrow design on the floor to point to my house, so even if i get lost i can look for the flames or die and follow the arrow back home
also in other news how does one generate one of those isometric previews? I wanna see if i made a large enough impact yet and how that one mountain looks after i took all the grass off it and got to its rocky innards
I think I'm pretty good at making long posts, no?
