Castle Forever is a spelunky-ish game, with controls that are exactly the same.
The levels are procedurally generated, there are 2 types of enemies, there is ledge hanging, and much much more.
Note: NONE of the coding in this game has been copied from the spelunky source, it has all been written by me. With the help of a few others: kinnik, and samwhited.

This is a WIP!!!

Screenshots:

O_O TEY LOOK AWESOME!!

On the menu, press down to go through the boards with words above them.. "Tutorial" and "Descent"

The level generation is still a bit early and I plan on getting rid of certain level designs in it.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THIS GAME YET! After you complete a level it simply restarts the room and generates a new level.

So far so good. What kind of generation algorithm you used?

I'm open for any kinds of suggestions. The movement seems a bit jerky IMO. I'm not sure how I can fix it =\
I'm gonna add some bats in the next version, I try as hard as I can to prevent myself from copying spelunky's enemies, but since my game is in a castle, it seems kind of mandatory to have bats.

The level designs are gonna be changed too... some of them I dont like.
Please give suggestions, and ideas!  Undecided

You have many "wall holes" - you could make them warp to opposite edges of the map, like in Super Mario 2.

Thanks for warning us you can't beet a game with forever in the name.

Just saying. I thought it was funny.
-----------------
Ok I played it now. The basic attack is a bit slow, but that can work if you are going to change it up later (with new weapons up upgraded attack) it's a little akword, but I like it.

In fact, if you would have me, I would like to help you in this project.

Edit:
I should also note the screen size is set far to large. It's bigger then my screen.

@q0099
I'm not sure what you mean by "wall holes". It is impossible for there to be holes in the side of the map. Just like spelunky  Grin

@marsgreekgod
Don't worry, after I have added more things to the game, I'll make it beatable, with a set amount of levels... maybe 16? Nah...
About the sword, I'll try to speed up the attack animation and lengthen the sword so it can attack further. I also noticed that ghosts cannot be affected by the sword, I'll fix that in the next version.

Maybe I should try 200% instead of 300% scaling.. I didn't realize people had such small screens. =/

I must get to work on making the bats now!

What question did I not answer? o_o

@q0099
Dude, I have no idea what you are talking about, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THERE TO BE HOLES IN THE SIDES OF THE LEVEL! O_O The outside blocks of the levels are invincible. Cannot be destroyed.

Yeah, I know, thats why I used quotes. So, at least, make indestructible blocks visible.

The indestructible blocks ARE visible...
Here is a screenshot to prove it... I'm not sure what your problem is =/

@marsgg
Oh. I would be glad to have someone help me. PM me if you have ideas on how you could. I'm in the process of adding lighting.
Here is a screenshot:

If someone could make me a smoother light alpha, I would be grateful.

The lighting is not bad. I got this old code that gets darker the futher you are away from light, slow or fast as you like. It's got some issues, but with some twicking you might like it (the whole screen gets darker or lighter, but the hero and bad guys and stuff can be "over" the darkness) with what you have it might help.
