Sound bugs

I just got Spelunky today, but when I play it, the music is very choppy, and sounds really garbled at some points in game. Anyone know why? I can play without music just fine, but it's such good music that I just don't really want to.

The supersound system probably just doesn't work well on your audiocard. I know that about once out of every one hundred times I play the game or so the music gets to where it sounds like it has a lower sample rate and is all high and tinny, so supersound isn't completely bug free.
Real quick though, is your CPU usage maxed out while playing Spelunky? And if so, is your computer single-core? If your integrated audio is really, really old and crappy, it might be offloading work onto your processor.

Yeah, my CPU hovers around 60-70% percent or so in the main menu with music on. And I don't know a lot about computers, but if I had to guess I would say it's singlecore, nothing else has led me to believe it isn't
