The Spelunky First Level Cash Challenge

I was excited when this contest came up because I used to mentally keep track of my first level scores while I led hundreds of spelunkers to their deaths. A $35,500 score stands out from all those runs, but that was while still planning to go on and win the game - I kept all bombs and usually kept the mattock to mine for gems with the Udjat Eye.

A couple dozen attempts to go all out on the first level yielded this:

The story is familiar by now - a snake pit, some shallow gold, and a little mattock endurance.

Also, I just realized there are now two different runnings. They will be complete with two different sets of trophies. These are for the first (lower tier), which is still a very nice acclomplishment. Second tier will be up soon. and awesome (hope )

Ok that's awesome.  I'll put these up in the Mortal standings soon.... you're doing seperate ones for the Legendary leader board?  Very very cool.

Those trophies are great, and they're now up on the leaderboard.  Thanks for doing these, they're great.  It'd be cool if they had like a "1" and a "$" on them somewhere to indicate they're for the First Level Cash Challenge specifically, but maybe you could just do that for the Legendary ones.

Thanks , something like a 1&$ would be cool, but it might make it look like their all first place or something. I'll play with it, the others will be bigger too, so more to work with.

P.S. I hope there's nobody taking offense to me calling the TM homey there .

Wow, pretty soon a 40k's score won't even get you on the legendary leaderboard.  Good job, frenchy.

Nice job. Any idea how many plays it took to do it?

Maybe around 20? Or 30? Although a lot of the times I died myself on purpose because the map didn't look too promising.

If Arucard doesn't do special trophies for the legendary leaderboard, I might just make the one set of tropies he did do legendary.
