I registered because the music in Spelunky is something that I feel is iconic for the game. I was excited to hear that Derek brought someone in to the fray to update the soundtrack for the XBLA version. And then I heard the sample...

I mean no offense Phlogiston, but I feel that the music featured in the medley is extremely incongruous with the game's atmosphere, save for maybe the sixth track. It almost feels like this music was composed for a different purpose and is now being shoehorned into Spelunky's update. I'm afraid I share the opinion that the music at least compositionally should not change from the original.

Sadly, I also have to say that I dislike the music *strongly*.
In my opinion it fails completely to support the game in any way. I don't even know where to start without looking mean...

I signed up to the forums just to say how much I dislike this music. I feel the same as the guy above, I can't explain it without sounding mean. Its just awful, and this is coming from a rather huge fan of Phlog. I really hope it has been changed. Or atleast an option to turn it off . 

EDIT: I recently got curious and signed into my old ass runescape account and some horrible music was playing, it sounds just like this.
