how do i install mods

Just copy the mod's executable file to the Spelunky directory and double click the file.

but can i have mutiple mods at once runing

Unfortunatly no, due to the nature of the mods (unlike games like Team Fortress, the mods are direct modification to the game's source code itself and released as executables. So, unless you modify the source code of the mods impossible to merge them (and even if it is, most likely, the mods would most likely clash with each other and not run properly unless you edit them to be compatable (which requires coding skills) ) ).
