This could be interesting, though to work the way it looks in the video the system would have to have a gyro like the Wiimote right? I can already imagine a remake of Warioware Twisted.

It could be some other thing, but it's going to be interesting, I have a feeling it will be a good system that sometimes uses it's gimmick.

I always admire Nintendo for their inventiveness.
To make a good game you don't need six parallel processors, native DirectX compatibility, blu-ray drive or a gamepad without a wire. To make a good game you need a thing called imagination.

To quote 1up:
The Facts
So far the only official word from Nintendo has been in the form of a brief press release that 1UP received late last night. Information in the release is sparse, but here is what we know for sure:
-Nintendo's new portable game machine has the temporary name "Nintendo 3DS."
-On the Nintendo 3DS, "games can be enjoyed with 3D effects without the need for any special glasses."
-The Nintendo 3DS is "going to be the new portable machine to succeed 'Nintendo DS series'."
-The Nintendo 3DS will be backward-compatible with both Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi software.
-The console will launch during Nintendo's current fiscal year, which ends March, 2011.
-Additional details will be revealed at E3 in June.
The Rumors
Japanese business publications Nikkei and Asahi have reported that the Nintendo 3DS will achieve its 3D effect using the "parallax barrier" technique developed by Sharp. In brief, this technique involves a secondary, overlapping screen with a series of precise slits that show a different set of pixels to both the right and left eyes, creating the illusion of depth.
Nikkei is also reporting that the Nintendo 3DS will be controlled with a tilt sensor, have a "three-dimensional" "stick" (we're assuming a traditional analog stick) and a built-in rumble feature.
While we consider both Nikkei and Asahi to be reputable publications, we're considering these features to be rumors until official word comes from Nintendo.

This looks fun. I've been thinking of getting a DS but there are like 2 DS models out already; I don't want ANOTHER to get obsolete...

A bit off-topic, but have you seen this monster DSi x or whatever? (the big version) It seems strange to me they spent so much time shrinking the thing down just to release a larger version later.

Well it does look interesting, it will just depend on developers to find a good use for the gimmick. Else it will become stale like a lot of Wii controls.
New systems always seem to get their most ambitious games at the start, then it wanes after a while. Like the Ape Escape game when dual analog first came to PS1, now it's always; left stick moves, right stick=camera.
